Mark your calendars for July 31 from 5-8 as we open an exhibit that will transport you back to a time when new and exciting artwork was emerging and the artwork and the men who painted them were passionate. Inspired by the European masters such as Degas, Modigliani and Monet, Alberto Escamilla and Hector Bernal have joined together to bring an exhibit to life. Rich with tradition, the exhibit will reminisce in romantic, passionate vibrancy.
Alberto Escamilla-A professional artist in El Paso since 1978, Alberto began his career with an in depth study of the lives and works of the European Masters, especially those considered French Impressionists. His strong understanding of color is evident in his landscape and garden pieces. Alberto has shown in galleries in the southwest and east coast.
Hector Bernal- Hector came to El Paso at the early age of 12 where he attended Aoy Elementary School in south El Paso. After graduating from Bowie, he got married and became a graphic artist for the Popular and White House Department Stores. A professional artist since 1986, Hector is an expressionist painter influenced by the works of European Masters, paying particular attention to the mood of his artwork. In 2007 Hectors Christmas globe was chosen to be shown at the White House where he as an honored guest.
Perfume Bottles-Although the art of hand blown glass can be seen in vases, paperweights and goblets, the vibrant colors and designs are also evident in artistic perfume bottles. From the traditional shapes to the very eclectic, American perfume bottle have become an art worth collecting. Bottles from artists living in Ohio, California and Michigan will be on display
Rubies-Known for symbolizing love and passion, the richness of red found in rubies creates a feeling of warmth, beauty and power. The collection shown will include round and oval rubies from one half carat to four carats.
