2003 Altamura Cabernet Sauvignon

This month’s wine pick is a 2003 Altamura Cabernet Sauvignon, a 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. It is consistently on my “Top 10 List.” This wine has a dark, inky color capable of staining your glass if you left it long enough, but you can’t because this wine is that good. The bouquet of this wine is that of dark fruits like blackberries, and its finish is extremely rich and luxurious, with hints of black cherry, currant and cocoa. The tannins are also very soft and luxurious, allowing for a long memorable finish.

This wine pairs well with roasted meats, steaks and many cheeses.

You can find it at the Greenery or at Café Central for on-premise consumption.
