Russian River Chardonnay
The Heintz Vineyard in the Russian River Valley sits at an elevation of 1,000 feet, allowing for cool foggy evenings and warm sunny days, giving the grapes extra hang time. That in turn produces fruit with high acid, great structure and balance.
When I put the glass of wine to my nose I got hints of honeysuckle and pineapples. Then when you taste this fabulous example of Russian River Chardonnay you feel suppleness in your mouth. The most pronounced flavor I get is that of Fuji apples and white nectarines followed a wonderful finish, with a touch of wood from its barrel aging of 13 months.
his wine would be a perfect accompaniment for seafood pasta.
The 2006 Williams Selyem Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay is available here at Café Central and other fine wine retailers like The Greenery.
