Just in time for a relaxing Mother’s Day brunch, this months’ wine selection is ideal for celebrations.

My selection is a delicious bubbly from Sonoma County, California, by the name of Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut.
This wine is made from forty different selections of hand-harvested Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. It is predominately Pinot Noir, which adds to its complexity in this Brut.

On the nose I get hints of toasted almond, caramelized pear and ginger. On the palate, I taste everything from lemon, vanilla, ginger and a hint of black cherry with a creamy, smooth, rich finish.

I love this wine because of its tiny bubbles, persistent effervescence and its ability to go with almost everything. And since we tend to drink bubbly when we celebrate, I can’t think of a better reason to crack open a bottle of Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut in honor of the mom in your life.
This wine is available at Café Central, The Greenery and your better local wine and liquor stores.

Happy Mother’s Day!
