Billy Crews Steaks cut to order and simply grilled have pleased hungry meat-eaters for generations. Located near the Texas-New Mexico border and surrounded by cacti and desert varmints, this steakhouse offers out-of-towners a real Wild West experience - though it’s and updated version with a professional wait staff and civilized wine list. Cattleman’s Steakhouse Magnificent desert views are the earmark of this famous steakhouse where several movies have been filmed. Located about 40 minutes outside of Downtown, this actual ranch offers big steaks, smoky ribs and Southwest sunsets. The 2-lb. T-bone is juicy with even amounts of beef on either side of the bone. Heavy-marbling in the rib-eye reminds cowboys why they like to eat here. This menu is not for wimps. Full bar.

Dane’s Steakhouse Being the new kid on the block can be a bit intimidating, but as the newest addition to the Cincinnati area, Dane’s Steakhouse has nothing to be worried about. As their name suggests, Dane’s is a steakhouse, however, don’t expect any stuffed animal heads or Western motifs. Dane’s strays from the local expectations of a steakhouse and instead offers an upscale dining experience with classy décor and sharply dressed wait staff. Now on to the food, which is absolutely amazing: the Ruby-Lola steak cocktail (steak medallions laid over onion, green chile, mushrooms, tomatoes and avocados) is the perfect start to the meal. Straying from the steak is also recommended as the macaroni and cheese dish is divine. Full bar.

Delaney’s Steakhouse An excellent wine list and cocktails served in classic glassware round out the scene. Inside the dining area, guests will find a decorative and soothing water wall, mahogany tables and leather booths. Service is friendly and the steaks are served sizzling hot right from the grill in the open kitchen. Reminiscent of a stately Wall Street steakhouse, Delaney’s manages to balance style with comfort. Regulars are greeted by name and everyone is welcome. Exceptional menu items include crispy calamari, bacon-wrapped shrimp, the New York Strip and the creamed spinach. Fresh fish and shell fish are available as well, but most of all, don’t forget the cream brulée. The top is cooked tableside by an expert. Full bar.

Great American Land and Cattle Co. The menu offers a variety of steaks and fresh seafood. The filet mignon is generous and tender, served with potato and all-you-can-eat coleslaw and ranch-style beans. You can’t go wrong with the BBQ chuck wagon and its large portions of slow-cooked, mouth-watering pork, chicken and beef, but steaks are the best. Full bar.

Outback Steakhouse This place is worth a “walk-about” for its consistently good steaks and prime rib. Start with the grilled shrimp on toasted garlic bread or the crispy crab and lobster cakes, then dive into a char-gilled ribeye that really lives up to its name. The sides are huge, so bring along an appetite.
