Combining his nickname, ‘ Coco ’ along with his girlfriend’s nickname, ‘Miel’, Julio created the unique bistro that offers homemade pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads and more. A four month remodeling process made the café atmosphere a nexus of industrial, contemporary and retro vibes.

With the help of his family and close friends, Julio is able to incorporate his own recipes and special touches into each dish while offering friendly service to his customers. He explains, “I like to focus on the simple touches at the restaurant. I think simple is enticing.”

Working to host jazz nights and art exhibits for local artists and musicians, Julio hopes the café will become more than just a place to dine. He also has ideas to include a wider variety of wine and beer choices to the menu and says that he would even like to dabble in brewing his own beer. Says Lopez, “I want this just to be a nice hangout where everyone can lay back and enjoy a good meal with a glass of wine.”

Barely two weeks in business, Coco.Miel Café proves with its quaint and unique vibe that great things come in small packages.
