The name BiPlano Rosso, red bi-plane in Italian, was inspired by Poulos’ 1941 biplane (the label features a drawing of the biplane) and is dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci who drew plans for mechanical flight 400 years before the airplane was “invented.”

For a red, this Chianti is full, fresh and fruity, both tannic in nature and high in acidity. “Compared to other reds it’s light in color, but has a certain finesse and when correctly made, is a wonderful food wine. It pairs great with Mexican food, is fruity and refreshing, and is a great wine for people who are interested in getting into red wines but who don’t necessarily like the big heavy reds,” says Poulos.

This wine goes well with pasta, pizza, meat, chicken, pork and tomato based dishes and is available at Zin Valle Vineyards and the Greenery Market at Sunland Park Mall, including select restaurants such as Bella Napoli Ristorante and Trattoria Bella Sera.
